Sovietization is the process of revoluitonary transformation in post war Eastern Europe from its origins in the final years of World War II until its completion in the early 1950s, just prior to Stalins death in March 1953. Sovietization is the word used for two different meanings one is based on the models of soviets, a political system is implemented and other is the implementation of a way of life and attitude modeled after the Soviet Union. Sovietization is also connoted with the broader cultural transformation into soviet life style and embracing the communist ideologies into the people. A famous sign of Sovietization occurred during and after World War II in Eastern Europe. Due to the political success the Soviet Union spread in these countries. Even before the war ended, Stalin spoke of the need of friendly Soviet institutions in Eastern Europe. During the war, the Soviet government and the people had worked together to defend the homeland.
Stalins agreement to the establishment of and relationship to a United Nations led the Allied leaders to believe in the postwar cooperation. After the end of World War II, Russia occupied Eastern Europe from the rest of the world and kept it under the clutches of communism. Stalins Soviet troops entered Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria in the last year of the war, pushing Germans westward. Eastern Europe peoples are under the control of Stalin for decades and lasted after his death.
Despite Stalins promises to Churchill at the Potsdam Conference, Sovietization ran rampant through the majority of Eastern Europe. The term uniformitas sowjetica postbellica was coined describing the state of the Eastern European countries that adopted Soviet socioeconomic models.
After death of Lenin, Stalin takes charges to make the Soviet Union as an Industrial power. Soviet union was behind the rest of world in industry and agriculture and needed to catch up fast said by Stalin. Stalin proposed Command economy with his own economic decisions. Stalin wants to make every country as socialist housing, industrialization, and communist. Russia was in backward in technology and culture when comparing powerful countries like America and Britain. Stalin wants to make Russia as a powerful within ten years. For this cause Joseph V. Stalin sovitized most countries during Soviet Union including Lativa, Lithuania, Estonia, Eastern Poland, Czechslovakia, Rumaina and Bulgaria. But it was turned as communism and the results were many wars.
